Mark, just what sort of "qualified engineer" are you?

It's easy enough to trace back from tuner pin1, as I say you'll end up
at simple standard devices. Even without working out the circuit, it's
easy enough to see if a transistor or regulator is working, just
measure the dc conditions. No diagram needed.

Also, a scope is helpful, but even just a cheap multimeter will show if
there's 22 Khz present (ac volts ranges).

In Newnes Satellite guide, a copy in many public libraries, there's a
diagram of a "generic" sat receiver lnb output stage, note that
particular models will all be a bit different.
