Freeview needs a UHF tv aerial, and a Freeview receiver.
(Sky satellite and Freeview are entirely incompatible systems, so
there's no way you can "swap" receiving equipment between them).
If you're lucky, you might just be able to buy a cheap Freeview
receiver (about £30 up) and plug it straight into your existing tv
aerial. Before doing so, check you can get Freeview! Best way is
"borrow" a Freeview box from a kind neighbour, and plug into your own
aerial, a quick channel scan will show whether this works. Also look at
neighbours' tv aerials, if they're huge then aerial upgrade is required
for digital. Lastly, there's reception "prediction" at
www.freeview.com, but this isn't very accurate.
