Bill

Firstly there are 4 bolts although the one does appear to be missing
and yes you are right I forgot to tape the f connector, but then it is
solid cable, not air spaced. The house is surrounded by high trees,
there was no option but to put it on the chimney ...

I dare say every installer makes mistakes, it's just that other aren't
stupid enough to advertise them on their own site!

Reminds me of my farming days. You could always guarantee that if you
wandered off line with the drill the wiggle in the crop as it grew
would be visible from the road, for all the neighbouring farmers to
have a good laugh about it!

You do at least have control over what you put on your site.

Unfortunately some people spend a lot of time slagging others off
in this group. Bill often goes on about going out to correct aerial
installations and how a lot of people are cowboys. What he has NEVER
done is name any company he claims have corrected work for. Not
once has he said anything about work installed by other companies
because they would sue him.

Putting up photos, reports, etc, detailing other people's bad work has
a long, perhaps even a distingushed history. For example there are
sites that detail all the bugs in Microsoft software, newspapers
report on corruption and MPs expenses etc. I even have two sections
on my own site endeavouring to cut through two areas of common
technological controversy riddled by bad thinking and pseudo-science.
I too tend not to name names, because I can do without the hassle of
being sued.

Doubtless Bill feels the same way, but he is perfectly capable of
defending himself if he should deign to stoop to your level.

Be that as it may, Bill's Rogues Gallery is useful resource, even if
only as a list of common mistakes to avoid.

I don't believe how perfect Bill is either,

I am not aware that he or anyone else thinks that he is.

But one thing is for sure, he seems to lead a more constructive life
both on and off-line than you. Out of the posts from yourself that
haven't expired in my reader, 4 out of five are along the lines of
this one, one could be argues to be constructive and intended to be
useful.

An 80% junk mail rate belongs in my kill file. Bye bye!
