Slightly OT?: LCD Panel - is there danger of burn in?

Hi,
following my recent queries regarding the merits of various LCD TVs I am now the proud owner of the Panasonic TX-32LE8F and very happy I am with it too. Due to Component Video and other inputs, my initial reservations regarding limitations of only 2 scart sockets have proved to have been totally unfounded.

Now to the point:

With my CRT TV I sometimes left it running when (in between watching TV) I was listening to the Radio via my DigiBox. My reasoning being that it was probably better to leave the TV running for an hour or so with just the blue on-screen banner of the DigiBox telling me I was listening to Radio 4 being displayed than repeatedly switching the TV on and off with the inherent possibility of damage caused by current inrush.

What is the situation with LCD screens? i.e. is there a possibility of the blue on-screen banner causing burn in damage? Is it harmful to repeatedly switch the TV on and off or is a modern LCD TV less prone to damage caused by surges at switch on? I would hazard a guess that modern SM-PSUs have soft-start mode??

@ any Panny TV owners: as I do not watch any off air signals is it possible to tell the TV to go straight to one of the AV inputs at switch on? At present at switch on it goes to Channel 1 and I have to manually select the required AV input? A litte niggle.

As always guys, thanks for your help.

@ Woody, in case you didn't read my original reply, yes still in Celle
