I can't remember the exact date we got the dish at home, but I know it was
set up in time for the inaugural Rugby World Cup which was held in NZ in
early summer 1987 - I can remember staying up late/getting up early to
watch the games on (I think) Screensport, and then being deadbeat in school
the next day.

RTL+ and its fine selection of programming did great things for my German,
a language I now use professionally as a freelance translator!

Ours was a fixed dish though, so nothing too dodgy was received, though we
added a 2nd LNB for Hotbird later on (early 1990s?).
