Re: Is it too soon to for Freesat?

I think its begining to dawn on people as well, that every few, and I do
mean few, years, there is another format and yet another box for it. People
I talk to who have read up on all this seem to be playing the waiting game
to see what is next. The problem of course is that if everyone does this,
there will not be anything next. As for Gordon, well, he is a foreigner, so
what does he know?

<snip>?

If you want HD you are going to have to get a new box at some time.
Freesat has HD now and there is a Hi-Def Hard Disk PVR available. HD
on terrestrial Freeview is a thing of the future after analogue switch
off has been completed across the country.

Combined Blue-Ray and HD sat boxes would be a nice thing but are
unlikely to happen. So you'll just have to have a two box plus TV
solution as now.

The other thing to bear in mind is how HD is your HD ready TV? Is it
1080p or is it doing interpolation to display a HD signal at less than
full 1080p?

IF you are happy with what you have now I would stick with it until
the market and broadcast standard matures and put the money away for
the rainy days to come.

Wait? Just what she wanted to hear - thanks a lot! Going to tell
Gordon about you! He told us to SPEND, SPEND... he is!! ;o}

TV is Panasonic TX-37LZD70 - no Sat tuner inside - notice current
model has one - curses - very pleased with it nevertheless -
definitely1080p.
