Nope; none that I know of certainly.
And remember that a proper DVD Video compliant disc uses Program
Streams, while what's broadcast is a Transport Stream. That's mostly a
matter of re-muxing, which isn't too hard. But then the DVD specs are
more restrictive on the formats and resolutions permitted than
Freeview - so you will get some streams that don't necessarily conform
to DVD video spec.
That might not be a problem if you just want to play back on the same
kit, and lots of players accept more than they have to anyway. But it
could cause problems for sharing.
I wonder too if there may also be certification issues; for example,
didn't the CD people refuse to allow their logo on some audio discs
that had copy protection which prevented playback on some equipment
with the CD audio logo, a few years back. So, besides the technical
issues, there may be a desire not to confuse people, and to ensure (or
enforce) that a finalised disc created by something with the DVD logo
will play back in any other kit with the DVD logo (subject to disk
types).
