Knowing that you have an interest in such things I took a few photos of
a Sat TV rack that I came across recently while working on a PMR radio
system. From the front it looked reasonable, the rear was not so pretty
though. It looks as though they had problems with over heating and so
had added a fan. As there was no provision to get the cables in and out
they had taken them through a few spare holes in the back door, shame as
this meant that the door would no longer shut and so the fan was no
longer blowing into the rack. It isn't shown in the photos but the
cables from the rack are so short that it is almost impossible to move
it anywhere. Pity because they are not the only users of the room and
some of us need to get behind their kit to get to ours!
PS if the person that put this rack together is reading this, your fan
bearings are failing, it was making a horrendous noise.
