LOL, you sound like one of your bad punters, vague about the problem then

Agreed and as the catalogue is handy RS 464-7300 or 464-7366 at 10p each
fits the bill <?>, 1nF 100V and COG dielectric is good to RF, keep the
leads short (less than 5mm). Tacked at destination probably most
effective.
So I should put these across the modulator inputs? That could be
physically
difficult as the inputs are those little plugs used for keyboards and S
Video.
If I can solve this problem for 10p I'll be well happy.
asking for precise details for the fix on hardware you haven't described
in any detail ;-).
If it's RF breakthrough on the audio then yes, on the mod inputs, 1nF wont
hurt the audio but should kill the RF provided the caps are the right
type, in the right place & the leads aren't too long. You may get away
with it for any or all of those recommendations not met but the likelihood
of a fix is less.
I see what you mean about the connectors, a bit small, you could break
into the lead to apply the cap but it's not tidy or a quick fix. You may
get a result by wrapping the audio lead through a clip-on ferrite a couple
or 3 times, the effectiveness goes with the square of the times through
the clip but these solutions can be a bit hit or miss. RS do these by the
bucket but they're a fiver a pop so not your 10p fix, search
http://rswww.com for 'ferrite' 'split' and follow the obvious course to
reach your options, the longer the sleeve and the smaller the internal
hole the more effective the suppression, you just have to buy a few, suck
and see.
Thanks for that info. I tried ferrites though, with no success at all.
