How can I tell which band or type it is?

Is there a website with the dimentions listed?

I have to get channels 38 to 63, and currently 38 is a bit iffy
sometimes. I
would just like to be able to check which group aeriel I currently have
before getting a new group E one.

With those frequencies, you need a group E, which are pretty hard to
find. I think CPC sell group E ones. I have never seen a group E
aerial up close, but it probaly looks similar to a wideband with the
elements getting closer as you go up the boom.

Or rather as you go *down* the boom, if you consider the reflector the
"bottom".
I wonder if there are people, Bill perhaps, who can group an aerial from
street level? It would be a gift, like a musician with perfect pitch.

Group A's are always easy to spot - but comparing a group W with an E at
street level can be difficult. A quad X is also often difficult to identify,
though most are now W.

AFAIK Antiference have always used coloured dots on the top of the
connection box with the group written on - then about 4 years ago I bought a
TC18A and it also had a red end bung, but not sure if they still do this.

Also bought a Diamond Colour Quad X (once(!) which seemed to be a rip off of
an XG8/10) it only had a sticker inside the connection box.

TBH if the aerial is a few years old and mounted outside any ID may well
have gone, you could try photographing it and linking us into the photos and
we can make it a pre Christmas quiz :-)
