Presumably it is picking up some overnight signal to switch on and update something? Anyone know what and why this behaviour has only started happening recently?
Thanks for any insights.

I had the same problem on my Humax 8000T. It started a few weeks ago powering on at midnight. I checked the Power on/off settings and they were disabled. I tried putting in on/off times which worked but then disabling this feature did not stop the 8000T powering on at midnight every eve.
Only way I resolved the problem was to perform a full reset and then all was OK (Note this puts all settings back to the factory default settings. Procedure as follows:-
Select Menu
Select Installation and enter pin (default is 0000)
Select option 4 - Default Setting
Select Yes
disabled but since doing that check it hasn't misbehaved.....
