Hi All

I have a loft box setup where I currently pipe Sky and FM through my
house to several other TVs (SLx8). I also use the magic eyes that
enable me to change the sky channel from each room.

Now, I also have a media center setup and I am currently working on
getting this piped to all TVs as well.

I've purchased an RF mod (Labgear bells and whistles jobbie) a scart
block and a splitter/combiner (one that will pass DC)

I've taken a feed from my PC (Svideo/Audio) and connected that into
the scart block.

I've connected the scart block to the TV and also connected the RF
Mod to the scart block.

From the RFM I've connected the output to one of the inputs on the
splitter/combiner. The other input on the splitter/combiner comes from
the RF2 Out on my sky digibox. The single output from the splitter/
combiner then plugs into an aerial wall plate that runs up into the
loft and into the loftbox for distribution.

Could someone tell me if this setup should work ok? at the moment and
after my first stab at it, I could not get the media centre on any
frequency after attempting to tune the TV in, however I did see the
digibox output (Sky)

To operate the media center from one of my rooms I have purchased a
new MC controller and a remote control extender and this seems to
change the channel ok from upstairs.

I had a similar issue when I also tried to add my freeview box into
the equation using its own RF Out socket, this was obviously without
the RF modulator. All I did here was to take the aerial out from the
FV box and plug this into the aerial in on my digibox. I was hoping
that the digibox would simply send both signals out via the RF2 out
socket, but this didn't seem to work as none of my TVs could tune to
the FV box.

It sounds to me that both of these issues are probably the same so
could someone advise me on what I am doing wrong?

Many thanks

AJ

To be honest you completely lost me in the explanation so I can't help
you with your original problem. I can say however that the picture is
likely to be pretty awful, SVideo from a PC is not perfect at the best
of times but when you are then converting it to RF it is likely to be
pretty ugly.

I am currently running Svideo direct to my TV in my main room and the picture is great. The picture is also great to all the TVs I have in my current setup via RF.

Have you thought of using a network 'client' for your Media Center PC?
If you are using XP or Visa MS you can get various boxes that stream and
control the content and plug into your TV by scart or component.
Personally I use modded Xboxes with the media center client on them,
these also have the benefit of working with numerous other server solutions.- Hide quoted text -

I have thought about thise wireless senders and looked at media centre extenders but I want to use existing coax also my home being made of stone does not work well with wireless

Thanks for your reply anyway.
