they claim to be specialists and then stick a tv over a fireplace at such
a height that any viewer would end up with a broken neck.
if 10 foot in the air really was the best place to put a tv we would all
have had 9 foot tall tv stands for the last 30 years.

Ah-ha! All very well, but when you (as you will - if you haven't already)
get into the varifocal age group you will find that watching TV at a
respectable distance requires that you do so through the upper half of your
spectacle lenses. The height of the screen then becomes a little more
pertinent. I am getting a little fed up with having to peer through the top
half of my glasses to get a decently-focussed picture and would seriously
consider mounting the TV a little higher (no - sod it - quite a lot higher)
if it would allow me to put my head back in my armchair and relax, rather
than sitting up and looking down my nose at it.
