The radio stations consume a pathetically small amount of capacity as it is
so there is absolutely no justification to reduce their bit rate levels no
matter how squeezed the DTT multiplexes get. Knocking off 32 kbps or 64 kbps
makes sod all difference to the picture quality of a TV channel, whereas it
makes a massive difference to the audio quality of a radio station. But you
know all that already.
