Presumably the device uses less power when on standby than a TV set
does when on standby.
It's got recharable batteries inside so it draws zero when in
standby.
But the battery needs to be recharged, so some power is consumed
whereas the impression given is that it consumes zero power.
And a rechargeable battery requires far more power to be put into it than
you can get back out, and has a finite life, and has an evironmental cost
associated with its manufacture and eventual disposal.
It's all smoke and mirrors, as far as I can see.
