Put your old hard drive in the new computer.
Don't expect Windows to boot if you do.
Mine did, albeit in safe mode. It then asked for the installation key. You
can get around that several ways such as installing the registration hack
before moving the hard drive.
Assuming your old PC has XP on it that is. Sometimes you can simply
swap the drive ad then install additional drivers, sometimes it won't
boot. I've done it several times with different OS's and have had
mixed results. It's not something I'd recommend someone do unless they
know what they are doing before they start.
About a month ago my old computer hard drive with its Windows 2000 OS went
tits up, to curb my tears darling wifie bought me a new computer complete
with Windows Vista, what a joke, as hardly anything from my old Windows 2000
will work on it.
One example, six months ago I bought a new Philips web cam, not only will
the original drivers not work but they created a problem which required the
recovery disk, and nowhere can I find any suitable upgraded vista drivers on
the Internet.
Someone suggested downloading virtual PC 2007 and running windows 2000
within that. However it's impossible to connect to the Internet, refuses to
recognise the on board SIS 900 ethernet card and 'insists' on repeatedly
installing a Microsoft 21140 driver which doesn't work, only recognises one
DVD drive out of the two connected, and is totally devoid of any kind of USB
connectivity.
All in all a bit of a joke and it looks like when I have the time I'll be
reverting back to win 2000.

I've just found the manual for the monitor. I'll give it a quick read
then report back..
Marky P.
Read it. No help :-(
Marky P.
The monitor should have come with a driver disk. I've just installed a
widescreen monitor on a Vista Computer and until the driver is
installed, the correct resolution isn't available.
I rather doubt the monitor needs a driver as such, more like the video
card or section of the motherboard?....
