Sky RF Out into Freeview

I've got a new Philips DVDR7260H DVD/HD recorder incorporating DVB tuner.

The setup allows for 2 separate antenna inputs and shows a cable/satellite/antenna into one input with a Digital Terrestrial Antenna to the other input.

There is a link cable if only one connection is made.

I am wondering what is the purpose of the second antenna option.
