Politics isn't my thing, but the Scots have MPs just the same as any other part of the country, so I don't see that argument holds much water.
Coming from "the north", I'm in a good enough position to know what it's like anyway.
To be fair about this, we either need one unified governing assembly (Parliament - as before - wherever it is), or an English assembly (or assemblies). Personally, I'm not in favour of the latter because it just adds needless and costly bureaucracy. I'd be quite happy for Scotland to have independence. Of course a Labour governemt would never allow it, and only concocted the existing system as a sop to pull the rug out from under the feet of the SNP who were in danger of taking seats away from them.
