I am considering one of these for my office to stream presentations
from a pc equipped with an nvidia 7800 card. I understand that VGA on
this panel will only display as 800x600, if I use an HD dongle plugged
into the component in will I get a widescreen picture?
If the answer is no would I be wise to look for another panel with
a DVI connector?

It will display VGA,SVGA,XGA and SXGA signals, although the latter is scaled
down. From reports I've read these are 4:3 displays with side columns.
