Hi folks,
6 months ago we moved into our new property. Since SKY was not
installed we got by using the house aerial for the five terrestial
channels. We got a great picture for all channels. Three months ago
we got SKY installed, and was used with the only tv we have.
At Christmas we got a new LCD TV with digital tuner for the bedroom,
which we are hoping to use instead for Freeview as opposed to using Sky
(which we will continue to use in the living room).
However now the internal aeriel now does not work.
Do sky engineers sneekily disconnect this? Or is there an issue with
having a rooftop aerial and a sky dish on the same property?
Cheers
ian
You know, I had somebody ring me up the other day and say exactly what you
have said above, pretty much word for word.
When this call came in and i'd asked some probing questions I always had my
suspicions that something rather dodgy was done by the sky fitters. I
thought they might have just chopped the TV cable and used that or
something.
I went round and had a look to see what the problem was but the Sky was run
using new cables...........
Then clambered up onto the roof and found something which defies belief.

That is unbelievably incompetent. Makes you wonder if it wasn't done
deliberately!...
The cable was so squished there was no signal passing through to the TV set.
I imagine the inner core was broken comlpetely......
The Sky had only been fitted recently and I supplied various photographs
along with an invoice. I said they should chase Sky and try to get my
invoice refunded, but i'm not sure if they had any luck.
I guess what i'm saying is don't rule anything else where Sky have been
involved. I found one new slate roof with a 2ft x 2ft fresh hole in it
hidden near the chimney, and was told Sky had been the day
before.............
I know of a company that has had Sky fitted at their premises up and
down the country, some have already fallen over or off the wall or
simply don't work. Seems to me that no one trains anyone anymore?...
