You would have to be in a really dodgy reception area for the best signals
to come from 40deg off beam. In truth, even when it seems best to leave an
aerial like that it never really lasts. Ring the installer and ask
politely what transmitter the aerial is pointing at, and tell him you're
curious as to why it appears to be off beam. No doubt you will have his
phone number on the printed invoice. Cash in hand? Oh dear!
Thanks for that, Bill.
It was Skyforce, and they have agreed to send someone tomorrow to have
another look.
The girl on the phone thought he might have aimed it at another transmitter
with a stronger signal, but I really find that hard to believe. My local
transmitter here in West Wales is Carmel, and there isn't much else around,
unless he's gone for Wenvoe in Cardiff.
I suppose it depends eaxactly where you are (I haven't got a map to
hand), but you are obviously within a 6 mile radius of Carmel. If
you're located towards Swansea then Kilvey may be visible (you can see
it from Llangenech) - Is there a repeater near llanelli (there may be
something on Mynydd Sylen - it's been years since I was up there)
