Best way to connect aerial cables

I am in the rather interesting position of getting a Freeview box in
the next few weeks, the one already downstairs has its own aerial and
the other aerial that's connected to this room also connects to two
other aerial points in the house.

There is a splitter box on the wall outside with the aerial downlead
going in and three cables going to the appropriate rooms. It doesn't
have any power to it. The two other leads are no longer required so
I'm looking to make a connection on the wall outside between the
aerial downlead and the lead to this room. There will be about four
feet of cable between the end of the downlead and the Freeview box.

Any suggestions to try and get a reasonable signal?
