Best top up TV Freeview box for doddery old people?

My mother-in-law is moving into sheltered accommodation in a few weeks.

She currently has cable, and she is very keen on tennis so she likes
watching Eurosport.

The new place does not have cable, but several of the residents have their
own Freeview boxes, so we thought we could buy her one for Christmas.
Satellite is not an option.

There do not seem to be that many boxes with the card slot.
I looked up the Which? report and it did not like any of them.

She needs a box which is very simple to operate and which is reliable.
Any suggestions?
