Thanks for the response. I was not quite clear in my original post, it
was working fine, un plugged to do some cleaning, put everything back
as it was, and it stopped working.

It can't have been the RF freq as it had not changed, I know this for
sure as other TVs are tuned in on freq 38. I did try switching it,
just to rule out, still no joy.

I got a second VCR which worked first time. I have put this down to
the tuner being broken on the older VCR.
