I sent Humax an email, asking about getting content from the box to the PC
via USB.
I also asked about adding a programme title, and the box recording it
whenever it airs, instead of selecting manually each time, or just setting a
daily/weekly timer.
This is the response.
The PVR9200T will come bundled with application software that will enable
you to transfer recordings from the set top box to a PC using the USB 2.0
port. At present this is in MPG2 format. The reservation will be handled in
the same way as the PVR8000T where it will start and end at the time given
by the EPG which is sent by the broadcaster.
Regards.

Your option for a DVD/HDD/Burner with built in freeview tuner sounds the
best bet of course, do you have a link/price?
Attaching a settop box to a DVD recorder is something I want to avoid
however, as I don't want to take the digital-analogue-digital conversion,
and wish to retain and burn the original stream.
Can any owners of the PVR8000T comment on the "reservation" mentioned in my
email?
Does this method allow automatic padding? What I mean is, some kind of
global setting, so when you select a programme from the EPG, it will
automatically add 5-10 mins to either side of the recording, just in case?
This could then of course be edited out later, if you wish to keep the
recording. This would also be easier than having to manually edit an added
timer every time you add one, to add the padding.
