I had a similar telly, very annoying.
1) Switch the VCR and Freeview box inputs to your telly.
2) Turn off RGB output on the Freeview box
3) Run the Freeview box output through a Scart selector
4) Run the Freeview box output through a Scart selector which allows
switching of RGB on/off
Options 1, 2 and 3 will lose RGB picture from the Freeview box. Option 4
means you could press a button on the box to get either RGB (with
autoswitching), or composite (without autoswitching).
