Re: Samsung 20" LCD TV

Hi all,
I have a Samsung 20" LCD TV I bought 3 months age.
I was using a headphone plugged into the socket on the TV, when the lead was caught and on tripping has broken the plastic collar where the headphone plugs into the set.
It cannot now be inserted, I realise this will not be covered under warrantee, would returning the set to Samsung be best for repair, or is this (hopefully) a small job that a local repair shop would do?

It (hopefully) is a small job that a local repair shop could do, but any repairs other than by a Samsung approved repairer will probably invalidate any manufacturer's warranty. As it's only 3 months old, and you might have a 3 year warranty, it would be a shame to lose that warranty. (Your statutory rights against the retailer should be unaffected by getting a repair, but it might weaken your case if there was a dispute.)

If you have a SCART output from the TV you could plug a small headphone amp (or a wireless headphone base unit) into that.

Coily-cord headphones help reduce the liklihood of mishaps like this.
