Static sensitive components, that could easily be damaged by lightning. A
Low Noise Block basically contains a circuit that receives microwave signals
(from the satellite), amplifies them and then converts the frequencies to a
lower one, in order to carry the signal via cable to the satellite receiver.
There is also circuitry to allow the switching of horizontal and vertical
reception, using two different voltages.
