The count is for how many households have 1 or more DAB sets, and

ready for switchoff.
Hear, Hear. This aspect needs to be stomped on and quickly.
AIUI the switch to DAB for the nationals "green lit" when >50% of
*all* radio listening is via *any* "digital platform". This includes
streaming, podcasts, terrestial and satellite transmissions. Now if
the criteria was when 75% of listening to the nationals was on DAB
only it might be more acceptable but including all those other means
of "listening to digital radio" just doesn't make sense unless you
are trying to fudge the figures to make a case for DAB.
Most of those other methods of listening are static. FM is not purely
static but listened to on the move or on truely portable self
contained sets almost anywhere in the country.
And the figure for DAB sets sold is misleading as well. We have a DAB
reciever, it came in a mini HiFi. It doesn't work, no signal... but
it will still be counted as a "point for DAB".
