You're probably using the wrong file system.
I didn't say it *had* to take ages, but that it *can* take ages when necessary (especially if I don't press the 'on' button for a while).
My favourite quotable T-shirt was worn by Charles Laughton, the celebrated director of umpteen Ealing comedies, when being interviewed alongside John CLeese about A Fish Called Wanda:

These days I find it not just witty, but strangely reassuring...
