There is a bad bit just near where the M62 crosses the Pennines after
you come off the A1

Radio 4 FM: M6 through the Howgills is bad. B6277 at The Langdon Beck
Hotel is bad. Alston town is poor. I bet there is sod all DAB coverage
in those locations.

Then as you cross from Teesdale into South Tyne Dale FM gets very
confused as you transit from the coverage area of one main transmitter
to another in about 50yds not helped with a local station on the
incoming side not far from the frequency of R4 on the outgoing. This is
a directional effect, travelling the other way (S.Tyne Dale to
Teesdale) is fine.

Worst bit for me off R4 used to be crossing Wandsworth Common on Trinity
Road where in the rush hour you'd be in start stop traffic. And despite a
quite strong signal would get complete cancellation due to multi-path.
Hence the eventual installation of the CP transmitter to supplement
Wrotham - but it's only a partial solution. The locally broadcast stations
are very much better.
