I keep seeing this but about 'fading and variable distortion' on FM.

Where do you live - the Outer Hebrides? I travel all over Yorkshire
and apart from the odd occasion when I detect it has gone mono I never
hear any of these so-called effects - and that is on a crap standard
fit Vauxhall radio made by Grundig!
