same station, and it can vary down to second to second - and I suspect
people like yourself just shut your ears to the bad bits. Try listening
to it on your hi-fi for 20 minutes and then come back and tell me that
it sounded good throughout.

Variability of audio quality according to program material is a fact of
life with all low data rate digital. Including MP3. In the car I'm willing
to put up with this on DAB rather than the constant fading and variable
distortion of FM - which to me is even more unpleasant. Of course this is
more noticeable on better equipment - but then so are FM nasties.
