Like Dave says, I remember having to keep the capsules dry to avoid
motor boating and various other unwanted noises. We used to carry
spare capsules so that you could do a quick change if the mics started
misbehaving in adverse conditions.
I can't remember ever having to delve into the electronics or, more
likely, sending the mics off to get repaired
