Recently I dug out my old 'Sky Analogue' satellite box for the first
time in ages (the dish is still up!) and tuned into what turned out to
be a large number of German FTA analogue stations which are still
broadcasting in direct and uncompressed PAL on Astra 19.2E, long after
Murdoch decided to abandon the system.
Having only watched digital TV for the past few years, I have to say I
really am quite astounded by the picture quality of these broadcasts,
which is undoubtedly far higher than anything we're getting from the
current digital system in the UK. The difference really does "jump out"
at you,

You should have seen British Satellite Broadcasting in D-mac.

Bill

D-MAC was astounding in 1991.
