My linguistic knowledge isn't good enough to explain which particular
root the "tele" bit comes from but it imples "distant" as in
television "distant seeing" or telephone "distant hearing". So as the
recording is local you can't really use telerecording, which was used
in the past to refer to the transfer of an electronic TV signal onto
optical film, remote to the action so the use of tele- is OK. B-)
I hate using "filming" when not actually using film or even when live
but it's what the Great Unwashed understand. A bit like doing the
hoovering or writing with a biro.
