The Lighting Director is responsible for the racking as shot, and it's
allegedly graded - all to avoid employing a proper racks engineer.

Fine - but plenty of the LDs I know are ex racks engineers. Unless you think they lose that skill when they 'move on' to lighting?

And almost none of the ones I know - they're mostly ex-film cameramen or ex film-school (with a few notable exceptions)

If you don't like the concept, then learn to do lighting as well, or get a
job in grading.

Been there, done it (grading that is), boring as ***..... -- ------------------------------------------------------------------ Tony Quinn --- The Voice Of Insanity reply to tony@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx ------------------------------------------------------------------ .
