Sunday stuff

Good to see TIDAL BAY back in the 2:10 at Carlisle which 'should' be a formality but I don't back odds-on so I'll be happy enough to watch him get round in one piece and score well.

Another I like is at Cork in the 4:00, TRANQUIL SEA who ended amongst the top Irish novice hurdlers last season and ran a fair 8th in the Supreme Novice Hurdle at Cheltenham last year, despite an interrupted preparation. I think could be a novice chaser to follow this season. This is a tough introduction for him but he is a point-to-point winner and won't have to reproduce anywhere near his hurdles best to score here. Generous odds today IMO.

End of season 2yo Irish Nursery races in soft ground are far from the ideal betting medium but BRAZILIAN SPIRIT in the 1:45 at Leoparsdtown is worth a bet at 6/1 seeking the hat-trick. I think she looks overpriced receiving 11lbs from the favourite and has at least scored over the distance.

At Huntingdon today my best bet looks to be LAOCH DUBH in the 3:25 who at 5/1 looks worth a punt. There are some tough types he is up against but I think if he gets to the front and is given his head he could be tough to peg back.

At Southwell in the 3:35 with the favourite a doubt this can open the door for COOL SANDS to come home in front and 11/4 is good enough for me. Has improved since joining James Given and loves it round here.
