I can`t believe it..after months of uncertainty..numerous tests at theNever trust Hospitals. I had some chest pain in 1992, ( panic attack as I
Hospital and this morning the Specialists greets me with "Good news..the
tests show that its not a problem" whiuch was great news and I can tell you
such a relief! not just for me but also my family and close
friends..although I still have the Bruit problem which remains a mystery?
He quickly brought me back down off the ceiling with this comment! " well
there`s no more plaque in your Carotid Arteries than I would expect to see
with a man with Diabetes and of course your age" the *** lol All the
rest of the test results were very good,so no invasive surgery or Rat
Poison at the moment(everything crossed). What it has done is remind me
that i must keep a good dietary regime, quit smoking and of course execise
:-(( Oh Rioja is good for the heart *grin*
So thank you everyone for your posts and emails offering your best wishes
and support,it really does mean a lot...David
ps
5.20 ITS NOT A PROBLEM ... was going to suggest ew but sod it! Its win win
win ;-)
had just stopped smoking was my own diagnosis) Kingston Hospital put me on
the treadmill and said that my heart was not getting enough oxygen. Would
yours if you had been in bed for four days attached to a heart monitor and
then made to run in a hot stuffy little room. They said that I must have
angina and gave me some pills. I protested to my GP that they gave me a
headache and he said stop taking them I don't believe that you have angina.
Fast forward to 2000 and 2001 when I twice more have chest pain and do
treadmill tests. After the second one the hospital doc said that condition
had deteriorated and that I needed an immediate Angioplasty as my arteries
must be clogged up. He would not even let me go home for my toothbrush in
case I fell down dead at the bus stop:-) I offer to bet him a months salary
that he was wrong but he would not take the bet. They do angiogram and tell
me that my arteries are clear.
So what about your tests I ask. False positive he replies. And the Kingston
tests I ask. Double false positive he replies. So I then have the more
enjoyable experience of a nice young nurse pressing her hand in my groin for
about 90 minutes to make sure that where they stuck the needle in does not
start to bleed. She is from Musselburgh so we talk about racing to keep my
mind of the hand on my groin.
Then in 2005 I go to a Newcastle hospital to have my prostate zapped with a
laser. I have to take a list from my GP of my medical history. Right on top
is 'Ischemic Heart Disease 1992 Kingston Hospital' What's this I ask my GP
no one ever said that to me in 1992. He says well in view of the fact that
you are still here thirteen years later, that your angiogram was clear and
you lead an active lifestyle it must have been wrong.
Derek.
