I was there and watched him do a pre racing bit on the Big Screen. Later he
did not seem to have much to do apart from ponce around on a platform by the
winners enclosure.

Just had a look through todays cards, and quite frankly, there nothing
worth getting excited about. Lots of poor quality fields, made up
primarily I guess of horses that their owners want to see running
today, a Bank Holiday, as a means of having a day out. Even Ripon's
Champion 2 year old race can only muster six runners, and much as I
enjoy Ripon as a racecourse, I can't be bothered to trek the 40odd
miles down the road. Just switch on the tv, and with Virgin I can watch
both Racing UK and At The Races with my package. Mind you, can't stand
that Matt Chapman on ATR, what an arse !!
Looks like Chepstow has gone the journey too.

There again over on RUK it is as bad, with Steve "Subtitles Please"
