Strange, but I heard the commentary yesterday and was reading at the
same time so it was half way through the topic before I concentrated. I
heard Torrance's reply but didn't clearly hear the subject which
appeared to come from Malcolm.
I would like to hear it again for I would have found it strange for
Malcolm to have been wrong about such a clear point wrt 14-2b.
As for the golf I found it particularly uninteresting. So unusual for I
enjoy the match play finals every year. But I feel that the prize money
has gone particularly barmy. A million pounds for a week's work is
crazy. And £100,000 for carrying a bag for that same period is even
worse!

I was recording it and have just had a replay.
Malcolm's email was read out on the 10th hole
just after they played their tee shots. M. said it
was a breach of etiquette, but not a penalty to
stand behind an opponent when he was making
a shot, see 14-2b. Sam read out the rule and
claimed, wrongly, that what M. said was incorrect.
Peter Alliss, sort of, questioned Sam about it, asking
if he had mentioned partner or opponent but didn't
really contradict him.
I did think Malcolm was uncharacteristically abrupt
in his email, even though he was correct and
obviously annoyed at Sam for giving wrong info
about the RoG on this and previous occasions.
