If your ability with figures is as good as your ability at spelling, I
wouldn't like you to record my score;) However, I agree that to assume that
juniors are incapable of marking a card or have less knowledge of the rules
than adults is not my experience of playing with our youngsters who I have
found to be knowledgeable, honest and keen to do the right thing. Yes, it
is possible that the younger player may be intimidated (intentionally or
not) by an older junior, but then, I know plenty of adults who are not
prepared to speak up when they see other adults breaking rules, so what's
new there?

I guess the golf course is as good a place to learn about life and how to
handle yourself as any and if the adults in the club enable juniors to learn
and give them the trust to mark card for each other and do not give them a
hard time over the odd error, we may find that we have more juniors in clubs
who then stay on and become adult members so that we boring old farts are
less dominant!
