We've already got the youth side covered. But we have lost a lot of
experience (Le Saux, Dodd, Redknapp) and we need a nutter in that changing
room to rally the team spirit. It helps he knows and can play in this
division too.

Just cos he's old doesn't mean it's a bad signing. He was free and signed
only for the year. I don't have a problem with that. To get a younger
midfield player with leadership qualities, a voice in the dressing room and
proven quality would have required a good amount of cash. Would you have
rather seen us sell any/all of Crouch, Phillips and Niemi to get one of
those in?

Our future is in Blackstock and co. but if we don't deal with our Present
(i.e. get back up to the Prem ASAP) then our future will slip away. So
Harrys got a short sighted signing that will do the exact job he needs him
to do for this moment in time. That sounds sensible to me.

We could get Stone as well, and that again makes sense. We've lost two
midfield players (for nothing) in Svensson and Rednkapp and as they both
played a real part in the team (unlike Nillson who is *so* expendible) and
we need to save what money we can get together to the far more important
task of sorting out our defence, so it makes sense to get short term
signings on the cheap, and if they can also help sort out the quiet dressing
room, then those are ideal signings in my opinion.
