Not sure what your point is. Are you saying that Because teams like
Dortmund, Bucharest, Porto and Villa have won it means that the best team in
Europe always wins?

You cannot reasonably argue that Liverpool were the best team in Europe in
2005 or that they are among the best two in 2007. If you had put in even a
decent showing in the league, (ie finishing within 6 points of the top) you
could try and construct and argument that you were a good side. But you
didn't.

21 points isn't a gulf, it's not even a chasm, it's an abyss.

The CL does not give you the best team in Europe, just as the FA Cup doesn't
give you the best team in England, and yes, I did say this when United won
in 2004.
