The charts to 10 days (and beyond) look to bring a constant stream of
wet and at times, windy weather to the UK. Very Atlantic sourced and
if the ECM at T240 is to be believed, that influence is not set to
weaken. We could end up looking at a typical UK winter (OK, I know
it's only late November) zonal set-up in 10 days, with high pressure
to our south and a string of depressions heading NE, passing to the
north of the UK and heading to oblivion over the White Sea. That won't
please the Internet majority, should it happen and the snow brigade
are going to have to be patient. Apart from the odd cooler lee
northerly, giving snow over the higher hills, I see little for snow
fans into the last third of November. Nothing in the way of settled
weather and bright sunshine either.

Rain lovers and ducks are in for a great time 8- (

Maybe the weekend storms will provide some more exciting weather than
the dark, drizzly clag we have this morning!

PS Don't worry. It will snow, for most, at some time before spring -
then we'll probably get our snowiest weather of all!

MetO considering a gfs possibility of colder conditions C/O a possible
extension of the Scandinavian high in the last week of November. A
doubtful outcome, but never impossible. 8>))

"UK Outlook for Sunday 15 Nov 2009 to Tuesday 24 Nov 2009:
After a bright and breezy start on Sunday with scattered showers,
increasingly wet and windy weather is expected to spread
northeastwards later in the day and overnight. By Monday, many places
should be under the influence of bright, blustery and showery weather,
though with more prolonged rain and gales likely in the far northwest.
For the rest of the period, it looks set to remain unsettled with
further spells of wet and windy weather at times, although the wettest
and windiest weather is more likely to be focussed towards the west.
By next weekend, there is a hint of more settled conditions across
eastern England, with fog and frost perhaps more likely here.
Temperatures should be fairly typical for November, though perhaps
turning colder late in the period.

Good forecast, it only took several hours to change it. Didn't Bill Foggit,
or was it Ernie Mackin  come from the South coast.  Try changing the models
for  the seaweed, there's plenty in Dawlish.LOL- Hide quoted text -

ECM builds on the theme of 3 runs of a European high deflecting
depressions to the north of the UK and presenting a substantially
zonal, Atlantic, picture at 10 days. The gfs is changing its tune at
T240 and is moving away from modelling a Scandinavian block. I thought
that outcome was doubtful and it is even more doubtful after the 12z
tonight. Still waiting for the gfs to agree and show rising heights
over Europe at 10 days, but I feel that may come over the next couple
of runs.
