There is certainly a degree of parochialism and a lack of objectivity
but I think that's only part of the problem if, indeed, a problem
exists.

Speaking for myself and with regard to Scotland, a year ago there were
at least four other contributors who posted at least on a weekly basis
and some posted daily. Last month, the most interesting May for some

representation I was posting into a vacuum. I don't expect a response to
everything I post, that would be very silly, but just occasionally some
feedback would have been nice from others in Scotland citing their own
experiences. Indeed, some feedback from people outside Scotland would
sometimes have been welcome!

There is life outside the south-west. Sometimes it just seems as though
there isn't.

When people like Ken Cook, Steve J etc have posted a reply, I've tried
to encourage them to keep doing so. It is a shame that a number of

I do read posts from all over the UK, and would certainly encourage
everyone to keep on posting. Just lay off the cricket, it's for people
who find paint drying unexciting.
