I got to be quite good last year (well, nealy 1900), but have a real
time shortage this year. So I haven't played anything other than blitz
for nearly a year now. I've turned from being an academic into a
manager. That also explains my relative quietness on this group (for
which I feel guilty most days, though several might cheer) and less
frequent updates to my web pages.
But one day I will update them properly, and get rid of that dreadfully
cliched spinning globe ...

That would be a relief to some (plus a tonic to others for the
updates!). So I imagine you are running the university, these days and
not just your department! 1900 makes me completely sick and I don't
think I'll look at your excellent site any more. Scuse me while I go
away and sulk!
