He always has trouble getting his words out - its part of his character -
only tonight he couldn't get them out and forgot what he way saying!

I think the example of a warning of disruption due to snow over the
Scillies (and I'm not sure they have an awful lot of traffic during
their morning rush hour!), just shows the lack of thought of
forecasters these days. It just seems to be the attitude that, 'the
computer says' - so what is the point of having humanoids? Having
retired from the Met Office last year and moved to Margate (East Kent)
I am amazed how poor the national forecasts are for our area. It
happens so often that we are promised a sunny/cloudy day and the
reverse occurs. As far as I know there are no human observations left
in Kent now so the forecaster should be looking at the latest satpic.
Surely, as a front clears the radio forecaster could slip in a few
words 'apart from East Kent at first, it will be a dry and sunny day'
or 'East Kent may stay sunny until evening' . Conversations I have had
from locals here say that in the past if they wanted to know the
weather they would ring up RAF Manston and 'they were always right' -
now nobody has any idea what the weather will do around here.
