I found it somewhat odd on the main 6.30pm forecast tonight that there was
an emphasis on it will "feel cold" which it will, but temps were shown as 7C
tomorrow and 5C on Saturday. Isn't that a bit high with 850 hPa's shown
as -6 to -10 over the period. Also there was no mention of snow moving south
through England during the period yet there is an early warning out from the
UKMO for widespread heavy snow and blizzards, including an uprated 40% risk
for the southern half of UK , Friday night. The only mention of snow was a
hint of something at the end of the weekend. Now, I am not quite sure what
to expect, especially come Saturday morning.
The forecast on the BBC news multi-screen feature of digital terrestrial at about 17:30 said that there was a likelihood of snow in the SE on Saturday. But, like the one you saw, "funny" temperatures.
