Penzance - 1st Strong winds for weeks.

Currently a very gusty Force 6, so it must be approaching gale force
in exposed spots.

The 18:30 forecast, apart from telling me I'd need my hat & brolly,
showed a wind speed of 19mph over the SW, and mentioned gales - a
contradiction in terms surely. Unless, as with temperatures, the
figures only relate to city centres. Not backed up by the MetO
website, which shows a more realistic mean speed of 35mph for Penzance
at 09:00 tomorrow, with gusts > 50mph in the afternoon.

I see the big swell is now reaching the M3 buoy (21' & rising).

It was a wet, windy & thoroughly unpleasant afternnon here.
